1. Who We Are
Traders Guild Ltd ("Traders Guild", "we", "us") is the data controller for personal information processed through the Traders Guild iOS app.

2. Information We Collect
You provide:
- Account details: email address, username, display name, and password (stored hashed).
- Profile information: avatar, bio, location (optional), trading interests (optional).
- Content: posts, comments, messages, guild memberships, follows.
- Support requests: messages you send to support, including any attachments.
Collected automatically:
- Device information: device model, operating system version, app version, language.
- Usage data: features you interact with, sessions, crash reports, performance metrics.
- IP address (used transiently for security and fraud prevention).
- Push notification tokens (if you enable notifications).
From third parties:
- Market data from data providers (this is not personal data about you).
We do not collect: payment card numbers (handled by Apple), bank details, government ID, or precise location.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and operate the Traders Guild service.
- Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- Personalise your experience (e.g. content you follow).
- Send transactional emails and push notifications you've enabled.
- Improve the app, fix bugs, and develop new features.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms.
- Comply with our legal obligations.
4. Legal Bases (UK / EU users)
We process personal data on these legal bases:
- Contract — to deliver the service you signed up for.
- Legitimate interests — to keep the service safe, prevent abuse, and improve features.

5. Sharing Your Information
We share information only when necessary:
- Service providers who host our infrastructure, send emails, deliver push notifications, monitor errors, and process analytics. These providers are bound by contracts limiting their use of your data.

- Legal authorities if required to comply with valid legal requests.
- Business transfers in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
We do not sell your personal information.

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to keep it longer for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention reasons.

- Correct inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of your information.

8. Children
Traders Guild is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International Transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United Kingdom, the European Union, and the United States. Where we transfer data outside the UK or EEA, we use safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses to protect it.
10. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest, hashed passwords, and access controls. No system is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information from unauthorised access, loss, or misuse.
11. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The Traders Guild iOS app does not use browser cookies. We use device-level identifiers and tokens for authentication, push notifications, and analytics. You can manage these in your device settings.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified in the app. The "Last updated" date at the top of this document tells you when it was last revised.
